Inside Sydney’s new boutique hotel Aiden Darling Harbour

Set to open in Sydney mid-2021, Aiden Darling Harbour marks the debut of the Aiden hotel brand in Australia.

Opening on the harbourside of Pyrmont, the new hotel spans eight stories of a restored 1930s Art Deco building.

Designed for ‘savvy and connected travellers’, there are 88 compact rooms combining innovative design, style and convenience, all in an enviable location on the edge of the city.

However, it’s the little touches that guests will love most. For instance, getting a good nights sleep should come easy with super comfy beds, a menu of pillows to choose from, and meditation and white noise channels. There are even blackout blinds and customisable lighting to help you create the perfect ambience.

Art at the heart

Each room features a stunning wall mural blooming above the bed depicting flora from the local area. These have been hand-painted by award-winning Australian artist Jessica Le Clerc.

Le Clerc is also the creator behind many of the artworks in the combined lobby, café and bar, as well as an incredible wall mural stretching 25 metres high on an internal wall.

Despite its size, the mural is only visible from a handful of rooms, offering an exclusive art exhibition for select guests.

If you miss out on seeing the mural, perhaps you’ll score a private balcony room overlooking Darling Harbour.

Either way, you’ll be able to enjoy all the essentials including a mini-fridge, Nespresso coffee machine, a Dyson hairdryer, Rituals bathroom amenities and a wall-mounted TV with Chromecast.

“Aiden Darling Harbour will be a neat little package of all the must-haves for a great Sydney stay, whether you’re in town for business, celebrating an anniversary, seeing a show at the many nearby entertainment venues, or simply enjoying a city getaway or staycation,” creator and owner Nicolas Chen of IHHL, said.

While the exact opening date is yet to be revealed, the hotel brand has hinted that the wait is only a few months away.
