Leading hospitality group, Accor has expanded its premium hotel footprint in New Zealand’s North Island with the launch of The Pullman Rotorua.
As the first international five-star hotel to open in New Zealand’s popular ‘Bay of Plenty’ region – a tourism mecca famous for its geothermal attractions – Pullman Rotorua is a dynamic and cosmopolitan hotel targeting high-end domestic and international travellers.
The new-build follows suit with Pullman Hotels & Resorts’ typical upscale and sophisticated style while offering panoramic views of the city and lake area. Taking into account the destination’s adventure travel appeal, all 130 rooms were designed with comfort front of mind. The idea was to deliver a peaceful and inviting haven for guests to relax in after an exciting day exploring the region.
Additional facilities include a vibrant bar, indulgent executive lounge, gym and state-of-the-art conference facilities including four private event spaces and a boardroom/private dining room.
A modern brasserie will serve up tastes of New Zealand while Barrel & Co Bar and Grill will deliver an entertaining dining experience centred around an intimate open kitchen and locally sourced produce.
“Pullman Rotorua is perfectly suited for travellers, especially families, couples and business leaders looking for a world-class stay and a touch of luxury in one of the country’s most attractive tourist destinations,” said senior vice president operations for Accor New Zealand, Fiji and French Polynesia, Gillian Millar.
“The city has beautiful forests and lakes for mountain biking, luging and water sports, spas for relaxation and wellness, and renowned geothermal attractions. No matter what visitors are in Rotorua to experience, we’re in the centre of it all at the Pullman and we’re addressing a need at the top end of the market, which wasn’t being met before.”
Pullman Rotorua is the second Pullman hotel in New Zealand, joining the existing Pullman Auckland in a network of more than 130 of the brand’s hotels and resorts worldwide.
An official opening ceremony to commemorate Pullman Rotorua’s launch is scheduled to take place in March 2020.
Opening rates start from NZ$349 (A$338) per room per night.
