After more than five years in the making, the highly anticipated ‘The Wizarding World of Harry Potter’ has opened at Universal Studios Hollywood.
Inspired by author J.K. Rowling’s stories and characters that were brought to life on big screen, the themed adventure ride has been masterfully recreated with impeccable detail as a real-world interpretation of Harry Potter’s adventures.
Featuring landscapes and landmarks from the stories, such as the famous Hogwarts Castle, new attraction transports guests of all ages to the very places they read about in the books or watched on the big screen.
Visitors go through the archway and enter into ‘Hogsmeade’, the bustling, local village with its residents going about their daily lives, before embarking on the hyper-realistic 3D-HD signature ride ‘Harry Potter and the Forbidden Journey’. Featuring multidimensional thrills and robotics, combined with action sequences, guests wear 3D goggles as they venture through journeys experienced by Harry and his friends, spiraling and pivoting 360-degrees along an elevated ride track for a whirlwind adventure.
Outside, there are dining and shopping opportunities to be had at multiple locations, such as the Three Broomsticks and Hog’s Head Pub, as well as the likes of Gladrags Wizardwear and Filch’s Emporium of Confiscated Goods, while the outdoor coaster ‘Flight of the Hippogriff’ provides family friendly fun for all ages and is the theme park’s first outdoor roller coaster.
