In an Australian airport first, Italian luxury brand Gucci is set to open in Sydney Airport’s newly transformed T1 International fashion precinct in early 2017.
From its early roots in 1920’s Florence, Gucci has gone on to become one of the world’s most loved and distinguished luxury fashion brands, representing the pinnacle of quality Italian craftsmanship and modern style.
“Gucci is one of the world’s most respected luxury brands and we are thrilled to announce it will call Sydney Airport home next year,” Sydney Airport general manager retail Glyn Williams says.
When it opens in the first quarter of 2017, Gucci will join a premium collection of 13 new brands at Sydney Airport, including Tiffany & Co,. Kate Spade New York, Burberry, Max Mara, Michael Kors, TUMI, Emporio Armani and Hugo BOSS.
The elegant boutique will house Gucci’s iconic handbag range, leather goods and travel accessories, men’s and women’s fashion, timepieces and fine jewellery, offering international passengers the opportunity to purchase the brand’s timeless pieces before departing Sydney.
The arrival of Gucci forms part of Sydney Airport’s wider improvements program to create a world-class airport experience, with T1 expected to become one of Sydney’s leading fashion destinations.
“Sydney Airport will soon boast the largest concentration of luxury retailers of any airport in Australia and we are very excited to offer our international passengers a truly exceptional shopping experience.”
