Ultra-luxury cruise line Seabourn will be offering guests the chance to explore the depths of the ocean with brand new custom Seabourn submarines. Available on the new Seabourn Venture and her yet-to-be-named-sister, sailing from June 2021 and May 2022 respectively, the new U-Boat Worx Cruise Sub 7 subs will take cruise excursions to a whole new level.
The battery-powered submarines can carry six guests and a pilot. Guest seating is in two clear acrylic spheres on either side of the pilot’s station, offering undisturbed views of sunken wrecks, reefs and marine wildlife, 300 metres below the surface. The seats are even mounted on rotating platforms, allowing for even better views.
Much like the ships themselves, the Seabourn submarines are the epitome of luxury. They’ll feature embroidered leather upholstery, two air conditioning systems, a Bluetooth stereo system, plus a champagne chiller to really elevate the experience.
During Seabourn Venture’s inaugural year between July 2021 and April 2022, the ship will be sailing to remote destinations in the Arctic and Antarctic, as well as in the Amazon, Caribbean, Central and South America and more.
In addition to news of the submarines onboard both new purpose-built expedition ships, Seabourn has also revealed details of the ships’ onboard dining options. The premium offerings will include the fine-dining Restaurant; the casual Colonnade, featuring menus by Michelin-starred Chef Thomas Keller; Sushi in the Club; Constellation Lounge and more.
