“We have experienced an increase in interest from high-end clientele wanting to experience a photographic safari in Africa. Luxury safari lodges have started to cater to this demand by investing in customized safari vehicles that facilitate wildlife photography, as well as providing professional studios, on-site gear rental and professional training for guests,” says Marcelo Novais, Managing Director of Ker & Downey® Africa DMC.
“Our idea was to create an itinerary that invites our clients to explore the diverse landscape of Southern Africa, while indulging their creative eye.”

Starting at the luxurious Sossusvlei Desert Lodge in Namibia, photographers can expect red sand dunes contrasted with white salt pans and shadows which evolve with the rise of the sun.
The group will then travel to Cape Town, staying at The Silo Hotel. Days will be spent exploring the city and surrounds before taking day trips to Cape Point Nature Reserve, Boulder’s Beach, Chapman’s Peak, Kirstenbosch Gardens and Bo-Kaap.

Days 9 -12 will see travellers embark on their photographic safari in the Kruger National Park where there will be both driving and walking safaris in hopes of seeing the Big Five game animals.

Following the safari, the tour group will begin island hopping from Vilanculous, Mozambique to Azura Benguerra Island Lodge via helicopter.
Whether capturing photographs on land or underwater, the scenery won’t fail to impress the most seasoned travellers.
