Luxury travel company Ker & Downey® Africa are inviting guests to put their photography skills to the test on a 16-day African Photo safari.
The tour will give budding photographers the chance to capture the impressive landscapes of Namibia; the seascapes in Cape Town; the exotic wildlife in Kruger National Park; and the tropical nature of Benguerra Island in Mozambique. Not to mention the dramatic sunsets Africa is renowned for.
Along the way, travellers will stay in 5-star luxury accommodation, which is the perfect place to kick up your feet and sift through the camera roll at the end of a long day.
It doesn’t matter if you’re not a professional; the trip has simply been created for travelers who enjoy photography and are keen to practice. The itinerary is made to celebrate the photographic landscapes and wild playground Africa has to offer.
During the Safari aspect of the tour, guest will be staying at Singita Lebombo Lodge which provides camera kits suited to wildlife photography. There is also a Photographic Library where guests can review and edit their photos from the day alongside their guide who can offer expert advice on selecting and enhancing images.
“We have experienced an increase in interest from high-end clientele wanting to experience a photographic safari in Africa. Luxury safari lodges have started to cater to this demand by investing in customized safari vehicles that facilitate wildlife photography, as well as providing professional studios, on-site gear rental and professional training for guests,” says Marcelo Novais, Managing Director of Ker & Downey® Africa DMC.
“Our idea was to create an itinerary that invites our clients to explore the diverse landscape of Southern Africa, while indulging their creative eye.”
Starting at the luxurious Sossusvlei Desert Lodge in Namibia, photographers can expect red sand dunes contrasted with white salt pans and shadows which evolve with the rise of the sun.
The group will then travel to Cape Town, staying at The Silo Hotel. Days will be spent exploring the city and surrounds before taking day trips to Cape Point Nature Reserve, Boulder’s Beach, Chapman’s Peak, Kirstenbosch Gardens and Bo-Kaap.
Days 9 -12 will see travellers embark on their photographic safari in the Kruger National Park where there will be both driving and walking safaris in hopes of seeing the Big Five game animals.
Following the safari, the tour group will begin island hopping from Vilanculous, Mozambique to Azura Benguerra Island Lodge via helicopter.
Whether capturing photographs on land or underwater, the scenery won’t fail to impress the most seasoned travellers.
