Luxury travel company &Beyond have opened up a new offering that lets guests live out their childhood dreams of sleeping in a jungle treehouse. However unlike the make-shift treehouses many of us grew up with, this treehouse getaway is a beautifully designed adults haven situated in Ngala Private Game Reserve in South Africa.
Cocooned in a remote bush setting, the Ngala Treehouse offers guests a romantic sleep-over experience where they can enjoy cocktails at sunset, a tapas picnic dinner and a night under the stars.

The four-level accommodation comes with a choice of two sleeping areas – an enclosed and weatherproof bedroom with a king-sized bed, hot running shower and working toilet on the third level or an elevated sleep-out platform set beneath a retractable awning on the rooftop.
As night falls, you’ll be left in luxurious solitude to truly feel at one with nature. However, don’t fret, a radio and mobile phone will be provided in case of emergencies. And if it’s simply a midnight snack you’re after, there will be a stocked bar with a selection of treats and breakfast foods to choose from in the morning – including a coffee station.
The Treehouse is also solar-powered allowing guests to charge their phones and cameras so they don’t miss out on capturing some of the local wildlife, including Africa’s Big Five who occasionally wander freely through the reserve. To make the stay even more of a bucket-list experience, guests can enjoy exclusive game drives and guided bush walks near the famous Kruger National Park during their stay.
Families are also welcome at Ngala Treehouse which can cater for a maximum of two adults and two children aged between 10 and 16 in the two sleeping areas. However, if you’re wanting a longer stay, you’re best to base yourself at &Beyond Ngala Safari Lodge or &Beyond Ngala Tented Camp.
