Emu Trekkers

Emu Trekkers, Blue Mountains

Emu Trekkers is a 100 per cent not-for-profit outdoor tour company founded by husband-and-wife team Tristan Harley and Rutty Talati in 2017.

The company’s mission is to offer adventurous hiking tours around Sydney and the Blue Mountains and use the proceeds to support the education, healthcare and welfare of disadvantaged children and youth.

The company is currently supporting the Indigenous Literacy Foundation to help improve literacy among children in remote Indigenous communities in Australia. All the proceeds of the tours, which are run by volunteer guides, go towards supporting this cause.

“There is a growing community of travellers who are looking at how they can be more than just a tourist,” says Harley, chief executive officer and co-founder of Emu Trekkers.

“They are looking for the experiences where they can connect with locals and make a meaningful, positive impact in the community they are visiting, and we are hoping that in a small, but memorable way, we can play a role in that.”
