Iconic luxury cruise line Cunard has unveiled its 2018 Europe program, featuring a series of special events and 20 new destinations for its three ocean liners, Queen Elizabeth, Queen Victoria, and the newly remastered Queen Mary 2.
Between them, the three Queens will offer 39 roundtrip cruises from Southampton from March until December 2018, including sailings to the Mediterranean, Atlantic Islands and Europe.
As well as returning to 10 past popular destinations such as Helsinki in Finland, Alghero in Sardinia and Gdynia in Poland, the program also includes an impressive 20 maiden calls to new destinations including Hvar in Croatia, La Rochelle in France, Bodo in Norway and Puerto del Rosario in Spain.
Fly-cruise Queen Victoria itineraries to the Western and Central Mediterranean regions between September and November 2018 will offer Australian travellers easier access to the Med, as well as more flexibility with voyages lasting between seven and 21 nights, visiting the likes of Rome, Venice or Barcelona.
Queen Mary 2, fresh from her multi-million dollar remastering, will offer 22 Transatlantic crossings, the only kind one of its kind in the world, as well as the opportunity for a double-crossing sailing roundtrip from Southampton on select voyages.
Meanwhile, Cunard’s program of special event cruises and onboard activities are themed around guests’ interests, and will include high profile speakers, adding a special dimension to each voyage.
Designed to suit every taste, some of the highlights from the 2018 special event program include; Transatlantic Fashion Week where guests will be treated to glamorous fashion shows on board; Voyage du Vin, introducing guests to some of Europe’s finest wine and port destinations with wine tastings onboard Queen Victoria; A Journey of Genealogy, which teams up with Ancestry.com allowing guests to trace their family trees on Queen Mary 2 while sailing across the Atlantic; Big Band Ball featuring a 13-piece Big Band Orchestra; and A Photographic Journey to the Land of the Midnight Sun where guests can put their newly acquired photography skills to the test on a special trip to the Arctic Circle to photograph the incredible “midnight sun”.
There are also five Christmas Market voyages and a New Year Voyage calling in Amsterdam on New Year’s eve.
