Aqua Expeditions Australia has announced an exclusive eight-night Fly-Cruise-Stay offer, departing Sydney 20 June and 1 August 2018.
Celebrated chef, David Thompson will host both cruises, taking place aboard the sustainably crafted Aqua Mekong.
Guests will dine on stunning dishes created by an Australian chef David Thompson, and will experience the green Summer season and vibrant culture, history and cuisine of Southeast Asia.
Having been named the 2016 Diners Club International’s Lifetime Achievement Award winner for Asia, David Thompson is a culinary artist who has established himself as a champion of authentic Thai cuisine and brought worldwide attention to Asian cooking.
Thomson’s restaurant Nahm, which opened in 2001 in The Halkin hotel in London, received a Michelin start within six months and became the first Thai restaurant to gain this award.
In 2013, he brought Nahm to Bangkong where it was listed as Asia’s third best restaurant and recognised as one of the top 50 restaurants in the world.
Designed to embody the aesthetic of a sophisticated five-star hotel with 20 stunning suites, Aqua Mekong features floor-to-ceiling windows overlooking the Mekong River, and a one-to-one staff to guest ratio.
It is the only ship on this stretch of the Mekong River to offer a fully-equipped gym, screening room, outdoor cinema, observation deck and an upper-deck pool.
The cruises will include twice daily shore excursions by high-powered skiff and the Mekong’s only private tenders for the expert guided shore excursions to serene Buddhist temples and stilted villages, or exploration by bicycle and kayak.
