Australian cruise specialist, Cruise Express, has combined four of Australia’s major wine regions into a new cruise tour for March 2018.
Set to be the most comprehensive, wine-themed cruise tour yet offered by Cruise Express, the hosted, 10-night ‘Voyage to the Vineyards – East to West’ tour from Melbourne to Perth includes visits to Victoria’s Goulburn Valley, South Australia’s Barossa Valley and also the Margaret River and Swan Valley wine regions in Western Australia.
The itinerary starts with two nights’ accommodation in Melbourne on 13 March 2018, including a trip aboard the historic Spirit of Progress train to Seymour in the Goulburn Valley where local wineries will showcase local vintages, followed by lunch.
Guests will then board the 2600-passenger Golden Princess for a seven-night cruise to Perth. The first port of call will be Adelaide, where guests will head to the famous Barossa Valley and visit the prestigious Penfolds Winery. At Port Lincoln, guests are free to sample the local oysters and during the next day at sea, Torbreck Wines from the Barossa Valley will host an exclusive, wine-paired luncheon.
The journey then continues further west to Busselton, WA, with a day trip to the famed vineyards of the Margaret River region and lunch at Cullen Wines. After disembarking in Perth, the search for gastronomic flavours continues with a tour of the Swan Valley, including Houghton Winery. A farewell dinner and one night’s accommodation in Perth ends the cruise tour.
Cruise Express is currently offering a bonus upgrade from a Premium Balcony Cabin to a Mini-Suite on all bookings made by 30 April 2017.
