Cities of style inspire Venice Simplon-Orient-Express grand suites

Belmond has unveiled three new private ‘Grand Suites’ aboard its legendary Venice Simplon-Orient-Express, due to launch March 2018.

The one-of-a-kind restoration project has seen the individual classic cabins completely transformed into three luxurious and spacious suites, complete with private ensuite bathrooms with showers, double beds and a living area.

Capturing the epitome of classic luxury travel that the iconic Venice Simplon-Orient-Express is renowned for, the elegant new suites offer the ultimate in style and comfort, transporting passengers back to the golden era of train travel.

Named Paris, Venice and Istanbul, after the three cities the train travels to, the cabins’ luxurious interior designs reflect the romantic spirit of each city, evoking a sense of nostalgia and glamour through original 1920s art-deco design.

The opulence and romance of Istanbul is reflected through hand-carved timber and embossed leather, the haute couture and gastronomic excellence of Paris is referenced with chic and elegant furnishings, and the grandeur of Venice is interwoven with silk fabrics and hand-crafted Venetian glass.

Guests travelling in the new grand suites will enjoy private transfers to and from the train where they will be welcomed by their personal cabin steward, including free-flowing champagne and private in-suite dining. Extra touches include bespoke amenities and a complimentary art-deco bathrobe.

Venice Simplon-Orient-Express travels between London, Paris and Venice from March to November, and from Paris to Istanbul once a year in August/September.
