AccorHotels has announced it will operate the new Chadstone Hotel Melbourne under its esteemed MGallery by Sofitel brand.
Ideally located in the prominent fashion, retail, dining and entertainment precinct of Chadstone, the new-build, 250-room hotel will commence construction in the first half of 2018 and is scheduled to open in 2019.
At 13 storeys high, the hotel will feature restaurants, a lounge bar, day spa, fitness and meeting facilities, offering MGallery by Sofitel’s signature style of authenticity, craftsmanship and attention to detail coupled with bespoke, local experiences.
“We are delighted to be working on Chadstone’s new hotel development and are incredibly excited by the synergies it creates; bringing our high-end, boutique MGallery by Sofitel brand to Melbourne’s most luxurious fashion address,” AccorHotels Pacific chief operating officer Simon McGrath says.
Chadstone Hotel Melbourne will become the tenth MGallery hotel in Australia and will join other iconic Melbourne MGallery addresses including The Como Melbourne in South Yarra and Hotel Lindrum in Melbourne’s CBD.
“Chadstone has become a destination in its own right with more than 500 stores across retail, entertainment and dining and having an internationally recognised hotel brand within the precinct, coupled with the strength of our loyalty and distribution platform will make for a powerful mix.”
The new-build is a collaborative partnership between AccorHotels, Vicinity Centres and Gandel Group, and has been designed by Melbourne-based architects Bates Smart. It will be the first hotel to target a 5 Star Green Star rating.
