Cathay Pacific will commence a new four-times weekly direct service from its hub in Hong Kong to Barcelona, as of 2 July 2017.
Complementing the airline’s current four-times weekly service to Madrid, the new route will directly link Hong Kong to the capital of Spain’s Catalonia region for the very first time, meaning Cathay Pacific will provide more non-stop flights to Spain from Asia than any other airline.
The service will be seasonal, operating from 2 July until 27 October, offering travellers an exciting gateway destination during the European summer.
“Barcelona is a great city for its tourism and rich culture that attracts visitors from around the world and we’re excited to offer our offer customers more choice with the first-ever direct link between Hong Kong and Barcelona, following the launch of our Madrid service last year,” Cathay Pacific chief executive Ivan Chu says.
Renowned for its art, architecture, culture, cuisine and nightlife, the vibrant city of Barcelona is located on the shores of the Mediterranean Sea, boasting numerous beaches within easy reach of the city centre.
The new service will be operated on the Airbus A350-900, a state-of-the-art aircraft featuring the airline’s newest products in Business, Premium Economy and Economy Class, including the latest seats, enhanced inflight entertainment and WiFi.
