ByRoads Travel reveals secrets of Sri Lanka

A magnet around the world for its gems, pearls, spices and tea, Sri Lanka boasts as many secrets as it does treasures, with many revealed on ByRoads Travel Secrets of Sri Lanka 13-day tour.

The tour goes from 15-27 March 2018 and has a limit of 16 passengers, beginning in Colombo, the capital of Sri Lanka.

Highlights of this incredible trip include the cave temples at Dambulla, the ancient ruins at Polonnaruwa, and the spectacular rock fortress at Sigiriya.

Led by ByRoad Travel’s Steve Mortimer, who with 30 years experience has visited over 100 countries, the tour passes through the scenic Knuckles Range to the old Sinhalese capital at Kandy.

The breathtaking highlands at Nuwara Eliya in the heart of the tea growing industry are also visited, along with scenic hill town Ella, and the tallest Buddha statue in the world at Buduruwagala.

An amazing attraction is Ude Walawe National Park, Sri Lanka’s premier elephant reserve, where guests enjoy an afternoon jeep safari.

The tour also delves into the idyllic south coast with its stunning beaches and glamorous resorts, the highlight being staying in the luxury Lighthouse Hotel in Galle.

Visitors explore the fascinating old Dutch Fort and take a boat ride on the glistening Madu River before returning to Colombo.
