Bruce Poon Tip shares his vision for post-pandemic travel

The Covid-19 pandemic has brought the global travel industry to a complete standstill, and it is unlikely to ever be the same again. During this time in lockdown, G Adventures founder, Bruce Poon Tip, has taken a moment to reflect on how this pandemic could impact the future of tourism as well as the possibilities that come with it.

Being the author, entrepreneur and philanthropist that he is, Bruce has penned his thoughts to form his first instabook – a free e-book titled Unlearn: The Year the Earth Stood Still.

It began as a love letter to travellers, encouraging them to keep dreaming, keep planning and emerge from this pandemic with a renewed sense of purpose and accountability when choosing their next holiday. However, it became much more than that as he delved into the possibilities of using this fresh start to reinvent post-pandemic travel.

“There is no question travel has changed, that it won’t be the same on the other side of these days of global isolation. The question is: What will it look like on the other side? I think there is a fine line between hope and hard reality. I think there is also a difference between what I would like to see and what might actually be possible.

“We have a chance to reset everything. This is what this instabook is about. It’s about you, me, and every traveller in the global community having the chance to rethink, restart, and rejuvenate the idea of what travel should be and could be. This is about the potential for travel to be anything we want it to be on the other side.” Poon Tip said.

With insightful analysis, Bruce shares his thoughts on what travel can, and should, look like on the other side of this pandemic. He explores ideas of evolving sustainable tourism, travelling better and making a difference, experiencing lesser-known destinations, reshaping luxury holidays, embracing homestays and more.
