After two years of cancelled holidays, everyone is searching for a beachside Airbnb this Christmas.
And searching. And searching.
And realising very quickly, that most holiday homes are already booked.
But not all. This week we asked Airbnb to send us a list of the beachside homes that you can actually book this summer holidays.
This list is based on the top 10 most searched Airbnb destinations. Needless to say, these places won’t last. Get in quick.
Queensland holiday homes
According to Airbnb’s internal search, most people really want to go to Queensland at Christmas. The Sunshine Coast and the Gold Coast are the most in-demand destinations
And now that the Queensland border will open to vaccinated travellers on December 17, we expect demand to go sky-high. These two gorgeous beach homes currently have availability… but they won’t last long.
Luca at Maroochydore
Luca, is directly opposite Maroochydore’s pristine beach and has stunning views.
This spacious, newly renovated two-bedroom apartment boasts is just, metres from Cotton Tree Village with cafes, restaurants and bespoke shopping.
This property has European beach charm, from hand plastered finishes to brass tapware and soft french linen in the bedrooms.

New South Wales holiday homes
The NSW North Coast is the most searched for region this summer. NSW took out a LOT of places on the list most searched destinations. The places that made the list include Kingscliff, Byron Bay, Coffs Harbour, Jervis Bay, Sydney and the Far South Coast.
Most people have booked something as close to Queensland as they can get because they’re nervous about Queensland slamming the border shut again. Others were searching for Sydney, just in case the city was still in lockdown.
These NSW Airbnb homes currently have summer availability.
Luxurious Bungalow Casuarina, NSW
This gorgeous beachside Airbnb is close to the resort area of Salt at Kingscliff, 15 minutes south of Gold Coast Airport and 40 minutes to Byron Bay.
From the home it’s a short walk to the pristine patrolled beach; walkways and bike paths. It’s also close to Cudgen Creek for kayaking, stand up board riding, fishing & swimming.

All the rest of Airbnb’s most searched destinations were in Victoria. WA clearly didn’t make the cut because none of us can actually go there. Though we’re a little sad not to see Tasmania on the list.
Victoria has had a tough two years. But with high vaccination rates, the state is finally open to open up. And it would be great to support them by hitting the road and visiting some of these wonderful beachside holiday homes.
White Gables, Lorne, Great Ocean Road
