Discover the healing haven of AYANA Farm Bali

The newly opened AYANA Farm is a haven of tranquillity and healing. It beckons those seeking a deep connection with nature and the age-old wisdom of traditional Bali herbal remedies.

Covering two hectares of the 90-hectare AYANA Estate in Jimbaran, Bali’s largest integrated resort, the AYANA Farm offers an enchanting escape from the bustling world. It invites visitors to discover the therapeutic potency of Indonesia’s traditional herbal elixirs, known as jamu.

Jamu is a revered wellness tradition deeply rooted in Indonesian culture. Its role in holistic health persevered through the Dutch colonial era and continues to thrive today, with age-old recipes passed down through generations for over 700 years. Now, in collaboration with The Jamu BAR, AYANA Farm has announced its twice-weekly Traditional Herbal Remedies Workshop.

Journey into the world of Jamu

At the heart of AYANA Farm’s offerings is the Traditional Herbal Remedies Workshop, a captivating experience that unveils the secrets of Indonesia’s age-old healing elixirs. Jamu, deeply rooted in Indonesian culture, is a concoction of herbs, spices, and other natural ingredients believed to possess an array of health benefits. Passed down through generations, these remedies have stood the test of time, and the workshop aims to honour their potency while sharing the wisdom they carry.

Led by local experts well-versed in the art of jamu making, the workshop begins with a guided tour of the farm’s lush herbal gardens, where you can witness the cultivation of key ingredients used in jamu. From turmeric and ginger to lemongrass and tamarind, the gardens are a treasure trove of nature’s bounty, showcasing the diverse ingredients that make up these traditional elixirs.

Crafting wellness, one elixir at a time

After the garden tour, participants gather in a charming open-air pavilion where they delve into the art of jamu preparation. Under the guidance of the experts, attendees learn about the unique properties of various herbs and spices and how they synergise to create powerful remedies. Hands-on activities allow participants to grind, mix, and concoct their own jamu. Then finishing by sipping their freshly crafted elixirs. All while being surrounded by the serenity of AYANA Farm – a reminded that wellness is a harmonious blend of nature, culture, and self-care.

The Traditional Herbal Remedies Workshop transcends the boundaries of a mere culinary or wellness class. It serves as a bridge between generations, cultures, and traditions. To gain insights into the therapeutic potential of jamu and also develop a deeper appreciation for Indonesia’s rich heritage.
