andBeyond’s Bateleur Camp in Kenya’s Masai Mara is set to be completely rebuilt and refurbished, to offer guests a whole new range of top luxury features.
Expected to take six months, the project is set to commence on 15 November 2017, and has been carefully planned to retain the authentic vintage safari atmosphere of the camp, while enhancing its sense of intimacy and luxury.
The guest tents will be increased in size to 1,044 square feet and will include both indoor and outdoor areas with features such as built-in day beds on private verandas, open-air stone courtyards bordering the bathroom, and an al fresco showers with butler hatches to allow for a discreet and personalised butler service.
The spacious tents will be beautifully furnished with deep bathtubs, plush furniture and fittings, chrome wear and light Talek stone finishes.
The communal areas will also undergo the refurbishment, with two new swimming pools making a welcome addition to the iconic camp, and will include extensive decking to provide an ideal location for outdoor dining. A well-equipped fitness centre will afford panoramic views of the stunning Masai Mara, while a massage sala and water feature add to the tranquility of the surrounds.
A safari shop will offer locally sourced, handmade crafts for sale and will also feature a casual coffee bar which converts into a gin bar in the evenings.
During the six-month renovation, some areas of andBeyond Bateleur Camp will be closed. The project is expected to be completed by 1 June 2018.
