Internationally acclaimed Academy Award winning actress Susan Sarandon is set to bring a touch of Hollywood to Melbourne, when she takes part in two exclusive La Dolce Italia events this August.
In her first ever visit to the city, Ms. Sarandon will be sharing personal stories about her life and illustrious career of more than 50 years as an actor, activist, writer and director, during a luncheon and evening presentation on Sunday 7th August. Fittingly, her visit also coincides with the 25th anniversary of one of her most popular films, Thelma and Louise, and both events will include meet and greet opportunities with Ms. Sarandon.
With Italian bloodlines on her mother’s side, Ms. Sarandon’s association with La Dolce Italia is a nod to her heritage, as well as a show of support for the festival’s charity partner for 2016/17, Bully Zero Foundation Australia, which actively works to empower young people against bullying.
Speaking of her upcoming visit, Ms. Sarandon comments: “I’m very excited to visit Melbourne for the first time, especially to participate in events that support such a worthy cause, and as a mother and a grandmother, working with causes that support the protection of children is incredibly important to me.”
Tickets to La Dolce Italia’s luncheon event and An Evening with Susan Sarandon are strictly limited.
