Soaring. This is the word that best describes the views over the Snake River Valley from the Amangani’s welcoming walls of stone and wood. It also works to describe the lofty ceilings in the glass walled lounge that looks out over the heated pool and Jacuzzi to the jagged peaks of the Tetons beyond. It’s hard not to stare, open-mouthed.
Staying at the Amangani is a special experience in so many ways. We love that in our room we can see the mountains from the shower, the bath, the bed and even the toilet, but the lure of the pool is too great and we are soon in it, enjoying being out in the crisp mountain air with snow-topped peaks all around.
There are many quiet places to relax, including the library, while the Zinc Bar is perfect for an après ski drink or before dinner at Grill restaurant downstairs. As we are there in winter we take advantage of the shuttle to Jackson Hole Mountain Resort, where we have access to Amangani Lounge. We can pop in and have coffee during the day and leave our skis and boots there overnight. Very civilised.
But that is to be expected at Amangani, an elegant yet rustic property with views to thrill and service to savour.
