Internationally renowned luxury hotel brand Aman Resorts has announced the debut of Amanvari – its first destination in Mexico, set to open in 2020.

Comprising of hotel and private residences, the luxury retreat will offer a peaceful and secluded oasis nestled between the mountains and the Sea of Cortes, on the East Cape of the Baja Peninsula.

“As we continue to evolve Aman, staying true to our ethos, brand and the lifestyle it offers, is our guiding force,” Aman chairman and chief executive officer Vladislav Doronin says.

“Our number one priority is embracing our pathfinder spirit, and with it, introducing our guests to new destinations and experiences.”

Amanvari will be situated within Costa Palmas, a private beachfront resort community with three kilometres of swimmable beach, and a unique, natural landscape of desert, mountains and palm oases.

“In the context of Amanvari, the raw landscape on the East Cape of the Baja Peninsula, is a fitting location for our first destination in Mexico and illustrates our continued commitment to curating resorts of architectural distinction.”

The resort will feature 20 spacious bi-level pavilions with stilted structures to allow the plant life to grow below. The pavilions will boast floor to ceiling windows that open onto a stunning outdoor terrace and sundeck, some even with a pool.

The main Amanvari pavilion has an open-air atrium and will form the heart of the resort where guests can enjoy three restaurants, a library and lounge, and 30-metre infinity pool.

For those seeking a more permanent Aman lifestyle, 24 whole-ownership Aman Residences will be available for sale, customisable, and ranging from four-to-seven bedrooms, with panoramic Sea of Cortes views.

The Costas Palmas plan includes a Robert Trent Jones II golf course, 18-acres of organic farms, and the private members-only Costas Palmas Beach & Yacht Club.

A 45-minute drive from Los Cabos International Airport, guests are taken to Mexico’s surreal golden beaches and desert roads with very few tourists.
