AccorHotels opens Mercure Maldives Kooddoo Resort

AccorHotels has opened the Mercure Maldives Kooddoo Resort on Gaafu Alifu Atoll, which is renowned for its lush greenery and pristine beaches.

The expansive resort boasts 68 luxurious villas, comprising of 43 incredible over water villas and 25 beach villas, with 20 of those complete with private swimming pools.

“Mercure Kooddoo offers our guests an authentic and friendly experience that allows them to discover the diversity of the island’s sights, sounds, and scenes with Maldivian hospitality,” Mercure Maldives Kooddoo Resort general manager Scott Bowen says.

The villas are luxurious, authentic and peaceful, with vivid colours and warm textures to complement the glistening blue water.

A multitude of dining options include the all-day-dining Alita restaurant serving Pan-Asian à la carte cuisine, Vistas over-water restaurant serving tapas and cocktails, and Alita Pool Bar, where guests can enjoy cocktails at sunset.

For active travellers there is a five-star PADI Dive and Water Sports centre, offering snorkelling, sailing, kayaking, jet skis and windsurfing. Additionally, there is a 50-metre lagoon swimming pool, tennis court and Kids’ Club, as well as local island day trips and sunset fishing expeditions.

Conveniently located adjacent to Kooddoo domestic airport, this hotel is the only beachfront property directly accessible via a 55-minute flight from Male instead of a speedboat journey.
