AccorHotels expands luxury portfolio in Asia Pacific

Leading travel and lifestyle group AccorHotels has announced six luxury and upscale hotel openings in the next three months.

The upcoming openings will include the expansion of the Sofitel and Pullman brands, which are affiliated to AccorHotels’ luxury and upscale collection together with Raffles Hotel, Fairmont, MGallery by Sofitel, Swissôtel and Grand Mercure.

“These developments build on 2016’s momentum, where AccorHotels added 86 hotels to our Asia Pacific network,” AccorHotels Asia Pacific chairman and chief executive officer Michael Issenberg says.

“Asia Pacific is really leading the world in terms of luxury and upscale demand and these six hotels are a strong signal of AccorHotels’ intention to keep building on our luxury credentials and expand in this sector.”

The six new openings are:

Sofitel Kuala Lumpur Damansara, Malaysia

In the prestigious Damansara area, this five-star property will feature 312 exquisite rooms and suites, five restaurants and bar, an outdoor pool and signature So Spa and So Fit facilities.

Sofitel Kuala Lumpur Damansara opened in August, combining French luxury with the latest deluxe design.

From October 2017, Darling Harbour will have a new landmark as Sofitel Sydney Darling Harbour’s 28-storey glass façade lights up at night.

Guests will enjoy spectacular views over the Sydney CBD and harbour in a property that will host 590 rooms and suites that combine trendsetting French aesthetics with ultra-contemporary design.

Situated alongside the new International Convention Centre, this five-star hotel will feature a stunning infinity swimming pool, Sydney’s most spectacular Champagne bar, a Club Millesime executive lounge, several restaurants and bars and easy access to Sydney’s best attractions.
